New targets for Essendon have emerged, while Collingwood have clarified a pair of rumours surrounding their list plans.
It has been a busy week for both South Australian sides, with trade requests and free agency ventures confirmed while plenty of trade speculation continues.

The Bombers have reportedly turned their attention to a pair of new targets, with Hawthorn midfielder Finn Maginness and West Coast free agent Josh Rotham linked to Essendon.
Maginness is contracted for another 12 months at the Hawks and would need to be traded to Essendon, who are said to be keen on some outside run, per AFL.com.au.
Rotham is also a player of interest for Essendon, with the medium-sized Eagles backman yet to cement his future for 2025 and eligible to move to a club of his choosing as an unrestricted free agent.

Port Adelaide have confirmed senior pair Daniel Houston and Ivan Soldo have requested trades back to Victoria.
Houston has long been linked to a move to his home state despite having several years to run on his contract.
Soldo joined the Power last year from Richmond but is keen to find a new home back in Victoria, with St Kilda linked to the premiership ruckman.
The club has confirmed both players could remain at Alberton if the right deals don't arise.

North Melbourne have emerged as the favourite to land Western Bulldogs utility Caleb Daniel should he look to leave the Kennel.
Daniel is contracted for the next two seasons but is said to be assessing his options after falling out of favour at the Dogs this year, per AFL.com.au.
Should Daniel look for a new home, the Kangaroos are reportedly interested and best placed to make a move for the versatile premiership player.

Adelaide have confirmed GWS free agent Isaac Cumming has elected the West Lakes club as his preferred destination.
Both the Crows and Power had long-term deals on the table for the rebounding backman, who had informed the Giants of his desire to return to South Australia this year.
Free agency will open on October 4, with GWS to receive compensation for the loss of the Broken Hill product.

The Magpies are said to be making a late push for GWS free agent Harry Perryman.

Melbourne reportedly have their eyes on axed St Kilda ruckman Tom Campbell.
Campbell was cut from the Saints at the end of the 2024 season after three years at Moorabbin, while the 201cm big man has also represented the Western Bulldogs and North Melbourne.

Uncapped Giant Wade Derksen has reportedly nominated Melbourne as his preferred landing spot after requesting a trade to Victoria for family reasons.
Derksen has proven to be a formidable forward or defender in the VFL over the past two seasons but is yet to earn an AFL debut.
Seeking a move south, the 23-year-old has elected the Demons as the club he wishes to join, with a trade deal to come, given Derksen's contract status for 2025, per AFL.com.au.

Port Adelaide gun Jack Lukosius has picked Port Adelaide over their state rivals as he eyes a return to South Australia.
