North Melbourne defender Majak Daw is set to make his long-awaited return this weekend.
The 29-year old will face Adelaide this Saturday in his first AFL game since Round 23 2018.
It's been a tumultuous 18 months for Daw, who was hospitalised at the end of 2018 after suffering serious pelvic and hip injuries.
He returned to the field in July last year via the VFL but tore his hamstring towards the end of the season.
Daw suffered a serious pectoral injury in May that threatened to end his campaign before it started, but the backman avoided surgery and is back to full fitness.
“Maj was doing his weights program and felt a sharp pain on his right side during a chest exercise,” North’s football boss Brady Rawlings said at the time.
“He was sent for scans and the imaging showed a tear.
“Majak has had an unfortunate run with injury of late but we will support him and ensure he can recover well, and hopefully build up to playing games again this year.”
The Kangaroos go head-to-head with the Crows at Metricon Stadium on Saturday at 2.35pm AEST.
