North Melbourne small forward Robert Hansen Jnr has become the latest 2023 Mid-Season Rookie Draft pick to be announced for a debut this season.
The Kangaroos selected Hansen Jnr, who hails from Western Australia, second overall at May's draft, with the livewire set to make his maiden AFL appearance against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium this Sunday afternoon.
The 19-year-old plied his trade with Subiaco in the WAFL prior to being swooped on by the Kangaroos.
"Since Robbie joined the club, he has brought a real excitement to our group with not only his skills and attributes but also his character," North Melbourne VFL head coach and development coach Tom Lynch said as part of a Friday afternoon club statement.
As one Shinboner's story comes to a close, another gets his chance.

"He has shown a real appetite to learn how we are looking to play and how he can improve his individual game.
"From the five games he has now played in our reserves side, he has displayed a great work-rate and selfless behaviour, often bringing teammates into the game."
North's full side to take on the Eagles this Sunday will be announced at 5:00 PM (AEST).
