North Melbourne has made a last-minute signing ahead of Monday's Supplemental Selection Period, adding VFL forward Tyler Sellers to their list.
Sellers booted 30 goals for the Kangaroos reserves last year - his first season at the state league level while sharing his duties with VAFA club Old Scotch.
The 20-year-old has trained with North Melbourne's senior group over the summer but was not listed as an SSP train-on talent, being one of several VFL players to help increase training numbers.
The big-bodied forward put his best foot forward last week at the club's intra-club session, booting three goals and spending time on both teams.
His strong performance, coupled with an impressive past 12 months in the blue and white, has reportedly seen him earn a promotion at Arden Street..
The attacking threat averaged 1.9 goals per game to go with 9.3 disposals, 4.2 marks and 2.3 tackles from his 16 appearances last year.
Sellers is set to join a forward group in need of assistance for spearhead Nick Larkey, who was often Alastair Clarkson's sole key forward in 2023.
"We are excited to offer Tyler our final list spot ahead of the 2024 season," North Melbourne head of football talent Brady Rawlings told Kangaroos Media.
"Tyler stood out to us with his overhead marking and goal-kicking ability in the VFL last year and has continued to impress while training with us over the pre-season.
"He has brought a great attitude towards training, and we look forward to watching him further develop his skills and attributes with this opportunity at AFL level."
With Charlie Comben making a move to defence, Sellers is set to compete with the likes of Callum Coleman-Jones and draftee Zane Duursma to be the main support for Larkey this season.
North Melbourne are scheduled to face Collingwood for their first practice game of the pre-season on Wednesday, where Sellers is likely to feature.
The Roos will play St Kilda next week before turning their attention to a Round 1 clash with GWS on Saturday, March 16.
