The new Alastair Clarkson-led North Melbourne Kangaroos have offered Fremantle swingman Griffin Logue a five-year deal, per reports from The Age.

This news comes as Logue announced in his exit meeting with Fremantle his desire to leave the club. The 24-year-old reportedly was weighing up his future for most of the season, before eventually reaching a decision that he would like to join a Victorian club.

The former Swan Districts player put together a very impressive season for the Dockers and was used at both ends of the ground by coach Justin Longmuir.

He fell down the pecking order as a defender after the likes of Luke Ryan, Alex Pearce and Brennan Cox were preferred in the back six. However, did put a strong second half of the season together as a forward.

Several clubs were linked to the former number 8 draft pick, with Richmond, Sydney and ultimately North Melbourne floated as homes for the out-of-favour Docker.

North Melbourne were able to point to the role he will play in the Kangaroos line-up, which prompted Logue to consider his options before the Dockers eventually looked to make him a four-year offer.

He joins a small group of players that are said to be leaving the club in the upcoming off-season, with Blake Acres, Rory Lobb and Darcy Tucker all linked to new homes.

The club has publicly refused the idea of any trade involving Rory Lobb, with the 29-year-old linked with a move to the Western Bulldogs.

The AFL trade period kicks off on Monday the 3rd of October.
