Delisted Adelaide forward Ben Davis has ventured to Victoria to continue his football career, linking up with North Melbourne's reserves in the VFL for the 2023 season.
Davis was cut from the Crows at the conclusion of last year after 11 games in six seasons at West Lakes, having initially joined the club through the 2016 National Draft as the 75th overall pick.
The 25-year-old wouldn't make his AFL debut until 2019, and would play no more than five games in a single season for Adelaide.
His delisting last year came 12 months after the Crows opted to cut Davis from their senior list before re-selecting the New South Wales product through the Rookie Draft.
Ahead of their 2023 campaign, North Melbourne's VFL side unveiled Davis as their inaugural signing for the season, with the 188cm forward bringing senior experience to the reserves squad at Arden Street.
He also played 16 games for Adelaide's SANFL side in 2022, however, shifted to a role further up the field for the Crows. Davis averaged 15.4 disposals, 4.5 marks and 3.1 rebound 50s across his most recent season at the state league level.
Davis will reunite with a familiar face in the Roos' system, with former Adelaide teammate Tom Lynch taking on the senior coaching duties for North Melbourne's VFL outfit this year.
Joining Lynch in a player-coaching capacity will also be former Port Adelaide and St Kilda defender Jarrod Lienert.
Lienert was confirmed as an addition to the Roos' system as a part-time squad member and assistant in December.
The Kangaroos will be looking to improve on their disappointing 2022 season in the VFL this year after they recorded just four wins from their 18 matches.
The 2023 VFL fixture is yet to be released, however, the opening round is set to take place over the weekend of March 25-26.
