North Melbourne have been named as the latest club showing interest in the package on offer of Jack Bowes and Pick 7 from the Gold Coast Suns.

Clubs have begun queueing up for the pick-player combination as the Suns look to shed Bowes' hefty pay packet for the next two seasons.

The Gold Coast utility is understood to be earning in the vicinity of $850,000 next season - a fee which is set to impact the Suns' future salary planning as they look to lock away young stars Noah Anderson and Matt Rowell.

The situation has left them attaching their first-round pick with Bowes to tempt a number of rivals to take on his contract for the next two years, and interest has continued to spike.

Geelong are seen as the front-runners for Bowes, while the Lions, Hawks and Bombers have also been linked.

Now, according to AFL Media's Cal Twomey, the Roos have joined the race for Bowes, who is expected to meet with interested suitors in the coming days.

Given Bowes is contracted, he holds the power of choosing his preferred destination should he depart the Suns this year.

A Cairns product, Bpwes could remain in his home state in a move to Brisbane, who are set to send Tom Berry to the Suns this off-season.

It won't take much for clubs to land Pick 7 and Bowes, with Twomey suggesting a later-round pick could get the deal over the line.

Bowes could be open to seeing the remaining money on his contract split over more than two years instead of earning what was promised from the Suns between now and the end of 2024.
