North Melbourne utility Blake Drury has reportedly agreed to a short-term contract extension with the Kangaroos following a promising maiden season.
The 18-year-old, who was swooped on by the Roos at last year's Rookie Draft, entered this season without a contract for next year, though that situation is now thought to be resolved after Drury is understood to have penned a one-year extension at Arden Street on Thursday, according to AFL Media's Riley Beveridge.
After debuting in May, Drury played a total of four senior games in 2023, while plying his trade at either end of the ground with North's reserves squad.
The utility joins fellow first-year player George Wardlaw in penning a new North contract this year, as the Roos' list management picture continues to take shape.
While the decision has apparently been made on Drury's Arden Street future, the direction of North Melbourne's off-season still hinges on the impending choice made by restricted free agent Ben McKay.

The key defender is being hunted from a number of angles, with the likes of Hawthorn, Essendon, Port Adelaide, and Sydney all reportedly expressing substantial interest, with an Arden Street departure likely to net the Roos a first-round draft pick as compensation.
This year's free agency period commences on October 6.
