Melbourne powerbrokers are said to have restated their demands for Clayton Oliver, reportedly telling the talented midfielder that he needs to change his ways.

Earlier this week, the four-time Bluey Truscott Trophy winner was linked with a previously unfathomable move away from Melbourne, withย SEN's Tom Morris claiming the club had become tired of Oliver's lack of preparation and reported petulance.

According to further reports made by Sam Edmund of SENย on Thursday, Oliver has been told that the Demons expect the ball-winner to both meet the club's demands, on and off the field, but also to treat the club's staff with respect.

Earlier this season, Oliver was caught by cameras acting demonstratively toward the Demons' Head of Strength and Conditioning Selwyn Griffith during his route back from a persistent hamstring injury.

Edmund also reported that in addition to presenting with a poor mindset, Oliver had also failed to turn up to training in proper condition.

Oliver is also said to have been dissatisfied with the club's handling of his injury, reportedly sharing this viewpoint with an assortment of outsiders in the AFL industry.

Despite a rift between star player and club reportedly existing, Edmund revealed that in an effort to re-set his mind on the task of winning a second flag with the Redlegs, Oliver had moved out of his Camberwell home and in with skipper Max Gawn and his family.

These purported alterations come off the back of reports that Oliver's lack of preparedness was born from the fact his previous living arrangement had been sub-standard.

On Wednesday, Morris pressed that Oliver had spent time on the sideline this season with a foot infection after attempting to tattoo his own foot.

While the Demons weren't prepared to confirm Morris' mail, Oliver did spend time in hospital with an infected foot in June.

Though this rift has played out on radio waves, social media, and back pages across the course of this week, Melbourne is yet to confirm whether they will be trading Oliver, nor has the gun on-baller requested a trade.

Oliver remains contracted to the oldest club in the land until the cessation of the 2030 season after inking a seven-year contract in June of 2022, a deal that is said to be worth $7 million.
