West Coast have confirmed the arrivals of former Lion Tom Joyce and Sandringham Dragons prospect Logan Young for the club's pre-season program.

The pair will join former Dockers tall Luke Strnadica and East Perth product Kade Dittmar in training with the Eagles in hope of securing an AFL list spot.

The Pre-Season Supplemental Selection Period opened on Monday and will run until March 9, with West Coast currently having two list spots available for the 2022 season.

Adam Simpson and his front office could opt to use both spots for any of the aforementioned quartet, or could choose to hold off on any further recruitment until the Mid-Season Rookie Draft on June 1.

The departures of Brad Sheppard, Daniel Venables, Nathan Vardy and Jarrod Brander have opened up several voids in Simpson's squad, with the likes of Joyce, Young, Strnadica and Dittmar forging plenty of versatility on offer to the Eagles.

Joyce was listed with Brisbane for three seasons before being cut by the Lions in October last year, with the Melville product not featuring at AFL level for the Queensland club.

Joyce has since signed with East Fremantle in the WAFL for 2022, joining Strnadica at the Sharks.

Young, a highly-rated inside midfielder, has joined the Eagles' reserves side and will train under Simpson in hope of a promotion.

West Coast confirmed on Tuesday that both Joyce and Young will begin their training programs next week.
