Local football club Frankston YCW in the Mornington Peninsula Football Netball League (MPFNL) has landed former AFL pair Ned Cahill and Mitch Cox.

The duo join the Stonecats following a successful season that ended at the penultimate weekend of the 2024 season.

Cahill was originally taken with Pick 56 in the 2019 National Draft by Essendon, playing six games as a small forward before being delisted two years late.

He had spent the past three seasons on Carlton's VFL list but signed with Frankston as his local club, playing one match in 2023.

Now Cahill has signed on full-time with the Mornington club.

"Stoked to announce Ned will be with us full time in 2025 after two seasons calling the Stonecats home whilst on Carlton VFLs list," the club statement read.
"The energetic and ever so clever goalsneak, is instrumental with his work rate with 81 goals across 62 games we can't wait to see him work his magic at Jubilee Park.
"Ned's looking forward to dribbling goals from the 50 whilst playing with Jimmy and the rest of the Stonecats and we can't wait either."
Cox joins Frankston after previously being on the Lions' list for 12 months as a pre-season supplemental selection for the 2022 campaign.
He didn't debut for Brisbane.
The 27-year-old has since featured for Williamstown in the VFL but has opted to return to the local football.

"Stoked to have Mitch Cox join us from Williamstown FC!

"Coxy is a goal kicking ball magnet, who spent 2022 in the AFL on the Brisbane Lions list. Absolute gun, even better person. Welcome to the Stonecats Coxy!"

Frankston is in Division One of the MPFNL league and will be looking to take a step towards a premiership in 2025.
