Fremantle has pulled out all the stops in the pursuit of Richmond vice-captain Liam Baker as he weighs up his future, sending midfield duo Caleb Serong and Andrew Brayshaw to woo him west.

Baker has long been linked with a return to his home state, including flirting with the idea two years ago before re-signing at the Tigers.

It was reported multiple weeks ago that the 26-year-old met with West Coast earlier in the year.

However, AFL Media's Cal Twomey has revealed that during Baker's most recent trip west he also with Serong and Brayshaw as the Dockers look to add experience to their improving list.

"Star Dockers pair Caleb Serong and Andrew Brayshaw were part of a contingent of a Dockers group that met with Liam Baker when he was in Fremantle," Twomey said on Gettable.

"That was a part of the pitch there. So, that's when the Tigers were in Perth a couple of weeks ago.

"That is something he (Baker) has to weigh up."

It is understood that both the Eagles and Dockers are up to their necks in luring Baker out of Victoria, with the latter holding a host of attractive picks that could get a deal done.

Fremantle currently possess four picks in the first 25 selections of the 2024 National Draft (7 - tied to Collingwood, 10 - tied to Port Adelaide, 14 and 24 - tied to St Kilda).

West Coast hold Picks 3 and 23.

It's likely a first-round pick will secure Baker.

"I think all year it is pretty line ball (with where he'll end up)," Twomey continued.

"I think he goes but we thought that two years ago and he stayed. Both clubs were well and truly in it two years ago... but I don't think he'll stay this time.

"It's just about which club and we know Freo have the picks."

Fremantle appear the more enticing prospect given their age demographic and push for a top-four finish.

West Coast, on the other hand, is in the process of finding a new senior coach whilst lamenting nar the bottom of the ladder.
