The final Saturday in September is a day that is marked off on every calendar at the start of the year, however, if you're expecting your side to make this year's big dance, there'll be one major change at the MCG in 2017.
While Yarra Park is usually filled to capacity on match days, the MCC are set to announce that there will be a parking ban at this years AFL Grand Final.
The move to ban parking on the AFL's biggest day comes as the MCG, police and security agencies begin to ramp up preparations for the league's finals series.
MCC venue and event services manager Gerard Griffin joined 3AW on Tuesday afternoon to discuss the matter.
"It’s not a done deal but it's highly likely," MCC venue and event services manager Gerard Griffin told 3AW.
"It’s a combination of security, safety and logistics
"It’s becoming a very challenging park to juggle."
