One of the most prominent names in Women's football is ready to go again for the sixth time, with Melbourne captain Daisy Pearce committing to the Demons' 2022 campaign.
Pearce's recommitment follows an impressive season that saw her win the Demons' Best and Fairest for the third time, achieve All-Australian honours, also for the third time, and lead Melbourne to their maiden NAB AFLW Grand Final.
Pearce averaged 10.8 disposals, 3.8 score involvements, and kicked 13 goals for the season, including 5.2 against Fremantle in the Demons' record-breaking game, which made them the first AFLW side to break the 100-point barrier.
Pearce contemplated a move to Geelong, joining the Men's coaching program as an assistant coach under Chris Scott, but the burning desire for premiership success is still there.
"The Crows were just too good on the day, and that'll burn for the next couple of months," Pearce told melbournefc.com.au.
With season seven of the NAB AFLW anticipated to begin in August, the short turnaround has added to Pearce's decision as she believes the team they have built over the last few years is special.
"I still love it, so why not?"
