Collingwood heart-and-soul player Brayden Maynard has reportedly come across North Melbourne's wish list as the lowly club looks to rebuild from the ground up.
The Kangaroos have made it known that they are after experienced heads to help steer the inexperienced ship to greener pastures, with Jack Darling and Luke Parker making the switch, albeit the latter has yet to officially been approved via a trade.
The interest in Maynard comes as he enters the final year of his contract at the AIA Centre, with North Melbourne having "made an inquiry" according to Herald Sun's Jay Clark.
To the dismay of Roos fans, the 28-year-old reportedly "quickly and politely turned down" their advances.
Maynard's physical presence, work ethic and finals experiences are understood to be the reason why North Melbourne expressed their desire to lure him to Arden Street.
The same can be said for Western Bulldogs' Caleb Daniel and Port Adelaide's Dan Houston, with the club still weighing up its plays for the All-Australian duo.
It comes as the Pies have eyed off out-of-favour Brisbane midfielder Deven Robertson, who told the 2024 premiers that he'd like to explore his options.
Following an impressive 2023 season, Robertson signed a two-year extension with the club but failed to have the same impact this year after Will Ashcroft returned.
The 23-year-old played two games in 2024 and is eager on more senior opportunities with West Coast and Collingwood expressing interest, according to the Herald Sun's Jon Ralph.
However, the move solely weighs on what the Pies do with Houston.
