West Coast have revealed forward Tyler Brockman was involved in a single-vehicle traffic accident over the weekend, with the incident under investigation by WA Police.
The accident took place in Geraldton on Saturday morning, with Brockman having attended a family funeral the day prior and was not named to play in the club's AFL clash with Essendon.
Brockman was not injured in the incident and is co-operating with police, with the club labelling Brockman's personal circumstances as "complex".
The Eagles have placed the 21-year-old's health and wellbeing as a priority, with the small forward's return to play timeframe unclear amid the ongoing investigation.
"The West Coast Eagles have become aware of a traffic accident that occurred in Geraldton early Saturday morning involving Tyler Brockman, who attended a family funeral on Friday afternoon," a club statement read.
"Fortunately, no other vehicle was involved, and no one was injured. This matter is being investigated by the WA Police and Tyler is fully co-operating.
"Tyler's personal circumstances are complex, and the club will prioritise his health and wellbeing ahead of any return to playing football.
"The club has informed the AFL regarding this incident, and we await the outcome of the police investigation before making any further comment. The club requests Tyler's privacy is respected at this time."
Brockman joined West Coast over the off-season from Hawthorn, where he spent three seasons before seeking a move back to his home state.
The Subiaco product played 26 games in the brown and gold, and made his West Coast debut in Round 1 against Port Adelaide earlier this year.
Brockman has played six games for the Eagles, his last coming against Gold Coast in Round 7.
