Port Adelaide have announced that utility Jake Patmore has not been offered a contract for 2021 while exciting defender Marty Frederick has signed an extension with the club.

Patmore was taken with the 58th overall selection in the 2017 draft and did not play a senior game for the Power.

“Jake is a real victim of circumstance; with an ACL injury in 2019 being compounded by a lack of regular competitive football in 2020 due to COVID, and what will be a reduction in list sizes for 2021," Port Adelaide general manager of football Chris Davies said.

“He is an outstanding young man who has demonstrated great professionalism, but we have had to make this difficult call based on our list numbers for 2021.

“He will always be welcome at Alberton and we wish him well for the future.”

Fredrick has signed a new one-year deal with the Power as he hopes to break into the senior side.

The 20-year-old was taken as a Category B rookie at the end of the 2018 season.

“It’s pleasing for our club to be able to retain Marty as a Category B rookie."

“He was part of that unfortunate group which did not get to play regularly this year because of the restrictions surrounding our SANFL program. However, his attitude and application could not be questioned.

“We look forward to his continued development next season.”
