Port Adelaide have officially nominated Next Generation Academy talent Nathan Barkla ahead of this month's draft.
The 18-year-old has featured for the Magpies in the SANFL on three occasions in 2022, making his debut against Sturt in August, and has trained with the Power on several occasions over the last two years.
A half-back or midfielder, the talented teenager is eligible to be selected through the Multicultural NGA Program as his mother was born in the Phillipines.
Draft rules in 2022 mean that clubs are unable to match mids on academy prospects if they fall within the top 40, however should Barkla not be drafted, the Power will be able to automatically rookie-list him.
The 2022 AFL National Draft will be held across two days beginning on November 28, with the Rookie Draft taking place on November 30.
The Power currently hold picks 33, 60 and 84 in this year's draft.
