Port Adelaide have confirmed star midfielder Zak Butters will be available to face Hawthorn for Friday's semi-final at Adelaide Oval.

The 2023 John Cahill Medal winner was subbed out of last week's loss to Geelong at half-time due to a rib concern, with the club confirming over the weekend that Butters would be assessed closer to his side's semi-final despite avoiding significant internal damage.

Following the Power's training session at Alberton on Tuesday, Port Adelaide have stated Butters is available to play against the Hawks in the club's must-win match.

The news is a major boost for the Power, who suffered an 84-point loss to the Cats on their home deck last Thursday.

Butters has played every game so far in 2024, averaging 27.83 disposals, 5.00 clearances and 10.71 contested possessions per game.

The gun onballer is the only notable injury concern for Ken Hinkley, with senior players Kane Farrell (hamstring), Jeremy Finlayson (spleen), Sam Powell-Pepper (knee) and Trent McKenzie (quad) already ruled out for the rest of the season.

The Power will name their 23-man side on Thursday night at 6:20pm (AEST), with Hinkley's final side to be confirmed an hour out from Friday's 7:40pm opening bounce.

The winner of the semi-final between Port Adelaide and Hawthorn will meet Sydney at the SCG in a preliminary final on Friday, September 20.
