With Port Adelaide's new inclusion of ruckmen Jordon Sweet and Ivan Soldo, questions are being raised about veteran tall Scott Lycett, who has been seemingly replaced.
At 31 years old, speculation has surrounded Lycett as to whether he might explore his options elsewhere or if 2023 was his last year in the AFL.
Lycett has played 146 games over the course of his career, also featuring at West Coast where he became a premiership player back in 2018. Since debuting back in 2011, he has been a consistent ruckman throughout his time in the league.
His manager Colin Young spoke on Trade Radio on Wednesday, updating the situation around him and acknowledging that he would spend the upcoming weekend debating his decision as to whether he'll be active in talking with other clubs of even hang up the boots.
"Scott probably would have stayed on at Port (if Soldo and Sweet weren't heading to the Power)," Young said.
"Now he's obviously available if he chooses to play. I spoke to him before I came on, he'll give it some thought over the weekend whether he will have a chat with a few more clubs next week or he may retire."
Over his career, Lycett has averaged 12.6 disposals, 20.8 hitouts, and 5.8 hitouts to advantage. Though not known for moving forward, he has also kicked 61 goals in the 13 years he has been part of the league.
Geelong and Collingwood are among the clubs that could take an interest in Lycett this off-season as a delisted free agent.
