Veteran Port Adelaide forward Charlie Dixon has addressed Ken Hinkley's contract circumstances, throwing his support behind the Power's seasoned mentor.
Port Adelaide's historic winning streak has nigh-on ensured Hinkley, who is off-contract at year's end, will be offered another deal at Alberton, with speculation remaining regarding precisely when an offer will be put to the 56-year-old, and whether it will impact Port's finals assault.
After a post-siren triumph over Essendon last week, marking a club-record 12th-straight victory, the Power is looking to keep the wins rolling in, with Gold Coast next up on the menu at Adelaide Oval this weekend.
Dixon, featured on SEN Breakfast on Friday, was quizzed on his coach's contract situation, re-affirming his support of Hinkley.
"It's mainly speculation and it's only drummed up by you lot (the media), to be honest," Dixon said on Friday morning.
"There's not much else we can do as players, he's got all of our support and he knows that.
"I think regardless of whatever, he'll be our coach, it's just the way it is, and the reason we're playing so well is because of him.
"I don't think you can make any other assumptions that he will not be our coach."
Dixon prepares to play in game 200 as Port Adelaide hosts the Suns this Saturday evening.
