Former Port Adelaide captain Travis Boak could continue on in silver, teal, black and white next season, claiming that Alberton was his "home" on Tuesday.
Without a contract for the 2024 season, Boak's future appeared in the balance after Power were bundled out of the finals race in straight sets by GWS on Saturday night.
Yet, after completing his exit interview with the club, the 35-year-old expressed that while there was work to do, he remained positive about continuing his career into an 18th season.
“It was good, a really good chat,” Boak was quoted by News Corp.
“Still working through some details, but it was a really positive chat.
“This is a big decision so we will take as long as we need to.”
Without a premiership medallion to sit alongside his pair of John Cahill Medals and trifecta of All-Australian blazers, Boak stated he was keen to keep hunting in 2024, claiming his body was up to the task.
“Yeah I want to be here, this is my home,” he said.
“Basically yeah, that's it yeah and this club is going in a really good direction led by Kenny and this playing group.
“Obviously we didn't finish this year the way we wanted to but this young group is taking this club forward and that is why I want to be a part of it.
“I still feel like I have plenty in the body and still have fire in the belly.”
Since joining Port Adelaide with the fifth pick of the 2006 AFL Draft, Boak has played a club-record 348 games for the Power.
