The Power have confirmed that Hamish Hartlett will remain at Alberton in 2017.

Hartlett was in Melbourne this week to meet with several Victorian clubs, however, after weighing up his future, he has opted to continue his career with Port Adelaide.

"Hamish and I had a frank discussion post-season about where he was at," Hartlett's manager Chris Davies told portadelaidefc.com.au.

"He acknowledged he hasn’t got the best out of himself as a footballer and together we discussed the possibility that a change might be good for him and the club.

"He went off, thought about it long and hard, met with some other clubs as you know, and has since decided that his home is at Alberton.

"We knew all along that if any move was going to happen Hamish would have to be on-board with it. And any move would have had to benefit Hamish, benefit our club and benefit whoever we might have dealt with.

"It now looks like that’s off the table and that’s fine. When Hamish comes back to training in November it’s business as usual."

The 26-year-old, who has played 127 games, currently has four years left to run on a five-year contract extension.

St Kilda, Essendon, Richmond and the Gold Coast Suns were all rumoured to be interested in signing the former No.4 draft pick.
