Port Adelaide forward Orazio Fantasia is set to face an extended period on the sidelines after straining his quad in the SANFL, the club have confirmed.
Fantasia was playing his first game back after recovering from knee surgery but came off in the first quarter. Port's General Manager of Football Chris Davies spoke to the media on Monday explaining the extent of Fantasia's injury, expressing his disappointment in the setback.
"Orazio has a strain of his quad, he has a challenge in front of him again to go through rehab again, we are really disappointed for him," Davies said.
"It is definitely a concern for us because we think he brings something different to the AFL side than we have currently."
"We have to be cautious now with the approach to get him back as soon as we can"
Davies also provided an update on injured youngster Josh Sinn, who has been sidelined with a groin injury.
Sinn is expected to make his return in the back end of the season and will not be rushed back into the side.
"We expect Josh Sinn to play at the back end of the year but will take a cautious approach managing his loads to get him to a point where he can train consistently and then hopefully play games," Davies said.
The Power's senior side are scheduled for a bye this weekend before facing Richmond in Round 13.
