Port Adelaide could be set to swing as many as three late changes against Richmond on Saturday night.
Former Adelaide player, Mark Bickley, has reported on Adelaide radio station FiveAA, that Jack Hombsch could be rested and withdrawn from the side.
Hombsch was named in the back pocket to face the Tigers at Adelaide Oval tomorrow night, with Jake Neade, Aaron Young and Dougal Howard named as the three emergencies.
“[There’s] some discussion around whether Jack Hombsch may be managed this week,” Bickley said.
“You look at the match-ups, there’s not really a matchup for him, and out of the three tall defenders, he’s probably the one who has been in the least form.”
Hombsch is not the only possible late out, with Matthew Broadbent and Jared Polec also remaining in doubt. The pair missed last week's win over Collingwood due to injury and were named to return to the side for tomorrow night's match.
However, both players were restricted to light duties at training on Thursday. But, coach Ken Hinkley said he expected both players to take their place in the side.
"We've got to get through to the start of the game before we confirm everyone, but with training yesterday, we weren't going to put them through back-to-back days," Hinkley said.
"That's quite normal for 'Polly' (who has had a foot issues in the past).
"Because you've got two players who are missing a game, we're pretty comfortable and confident they're going to be there … but you're never quite 100 per cent certain until you get through 100 per cent."
