Port Adelaide has revealed that scans show skipper Connor Rozee has sustained a "similar injury" to his hamstring as he had the week prior.

While Rozee failed to finish the Power's 10-point win over St Kilda in Round 8 after becoming hamstrung, Port rolled the dice on their captain, selecting their hampered leader for their Showdown clash against Adelaide on Thursday.

On the scoreboard and on the ground, the all-South Australian fixture proved a nightmare for Ken Hinkley's charges after losing both the game by 40 points and their skipper.

In an ambiguous statement from the Alberton-based club, it was revealed that Rozee had, once again, injured his hamstring.

Still, no details regarding how damaged the midfielder's tendon had become were provided.

"Rozee was subbed out of the game with hamstring tightness at three-quarter time, with scans on Friday showing a similar injury to the same part of the hamstring as last weekend," Port's statement read.

"The Port Adelaide captain became aware of the issue under fatigue late in the game when he was unable to access his normal power and speed."

Rozee will miss Port Adelaide's upcoming fixture against Geelong, scheduled to take place at GMHBA Stadium next Friday night.

The Power also provided updates Lachlan Jones (hamstring) and Mitch Georgiades (knee), stating that both would be reassessed in the lead-up to the Cats clash.
