Port Adelaide has indicated it may make a selection at June's Mid-Season Draft after injured defender Jake Pasini was moved to the club's inactive list.

Pasini, who ruptured his ACL at a training session last week, recently underwent a successful knee reconstruction and will begin preparing for the 2023 season.

The Power can now use their vacant list spot on a mid-season draftee if they believe there is a player available who suits their needs.

With ruckman Scott Lycett still at least ten weeks away from returning to action from a shoulder ailment, Port Adelaide may be tempted by a tall on June 1.

Four of the first seven selections at last year's mid-season draft were ruckmen, and so East Fremantle ruckman Brynn Teakle could tickle the Power's fancy.

The 22-year-old Teakle has averaged 14.5 disposals, 3.3 marks, 20 hit-outs and 0.8 goals through four WAFL matches in 2022.

Despite the progress and serviceable performance of youngster Sam Hayes, who has played in the absence of Lycett, Ken Hinkley and the Power could look for some positional insurance in the form of Teakle.

However, Teakle may well be a popular target in two weeks' time, with Collingwood and Carlton possibly also after a tall after both suffered shortages in the ruck department in the form of injuries to Magpies Brodie Grundy and Nathan Kreuger, and Blue Marc Pittonet.
