While Collingwood brace to be without star midfielder Jordan De Goey for at least three matches through suspension, the Magpies are said to have found some luck on the injury front in the build-up to their King's Birthday clash with Melbourne.

De Goey will face the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday evening to learn his playing fate following a bump on West Coast's Elijah Hewett that left the teenager with a concussion. De Goey was charged with rough conduct by the Match Review Officer and referred directly to the Tribunal for a minimum three-game suspension.

While Collingwood could argue the ban to be lower than the MRO's findings, De Goey is all but certain to miss next Monday's mouth-watering matchup between the Magpies and Demons at the MCG.

De Goey's bump on Hewett added to an afternoon of potential casualties for Craig McRae's side in their 63-point win, with forward pair Beau McCreery and Will Hoskin-Elliott suffering ankle injuries in the victory at Otus Stadium over the Eagles.

McCreery was subbed out of the contest opening half before Hoskin-Elliott was unable to play out the remaining stages of the fourth quarter with his own ailment.

According to The Age, both McCreery and Hoskin-Elliott are understood to have avoided serious injuries and remain in selection consideration for Round 13.

McCreery will remain a test for this week despite avoiding a syndesmosis injury, while fellow forwards Ash Johnson and Bobby Hill will likely be monitored in the coming days after shaking off injury knocks against the Eagles.

The Magpies have the advantaged of a nine-day break between their win over West Coast and Monday's clash, giving any of their injured or recovering assets extended time to be cleared to play.

McRae is expected to have Jamie Elliott available after he was ruled out of the trip west with a shoulder issue, while midfielder Patrick Lipinski could be in line for his first game of the season after requiring shoulder surgery prior to Round 1.

Key forward Dan McStay will also be in the mix for selection after commencing ball-handling drills last week as he eyes a return from a finger injury sustained in Round 5.

Collingwood's squad for Round 13 won't be confirmed until 6:20pm (AEST) on Sunday.
