After reports of being hunted by several AFL teams, Port Adelaide key forward Todd Marshall is set to lock on his future at Alberton with a massive four-year contract.
Selected with the 16th pick of the 2016 AFL Draft, the Deniliquin native first pulled on the silver, teal, black and white during Round 22 of 2017 and currently has 97 senior appearances to his name and 138 goals.
Journalist Tom Morris from Channel Nine has reported that Marshall will re-sign with Port Adelaide on a four-year deal.
It is understood that both parties are confident the agreement will be signed before Round 1 at the latest.
The Power's leading goalkicker from the 2022 season recently returned to training after undergoing hip surgery late last year.
Expected to be fully fit by the beginning of the season, Marshall was required to undergo an arthroscope on his hip, which has limited his pre-season training.
With a deal imminent, Port appears set to have young key forwards Marshall (end of the 2028 season), Ollie Lord (2026) and Mitch Georgiades (2027) locked away for the foreseeable future.
However, there is ambiguity surrounding the future of the Power's old guard, with both of Charlie Dixon and Jeremy Finlayson set to come out of contract at the cessation of the 2024 season.
Port Adelaide are scheduled to commence their 2024 campaign when they play host to West Coast at the Adelaide Oval on March 17, 2023.
