Port Adelaide midfielder Willem Drew is aiming to return to full training within a month after undergoing a foot procedure.

Drew played all 26 games for the Power last season, averaging 19.3 disposals and 6.1 tackles. He became touted as a dynamic difference-maker in Port Adelaide's stoppage setups, averaging more centre bounce appearances than Jason Horne-Francis in 2024 despite Horne-Francis, Connor Rozee and Zak Butters being regarded as the core trio.

Drew has been suffering from discomfort in the arch of his foot and underwent a plantar fascia release on Tuesday. The surgery involves removing the part of the tissue causing inflammation to relieve the tension and discomfort the individual feels.

Drew's minor procedure is pale in comparison to teammate Todd Marshall however, who ruptured his Achilles tendon at pre-season training earlier this month.
