Port Adelaide have announced young forward Aidyn Johnson will remain at the club until at least the end of the 2019 season after putting pen to paper on a new deal on Tuesday.
Johnson made his AFL debut in round five against Carlton, picking up 14 disposals and kicking two goals in an impressive outing.
General Manager of Football Chris Davies said the 19-year-old showed plenty of potential in 2017 as he looks to build on that next season.
“His speed is a major asset and his pressure around the contest is at a high level," Davies said.
“His challenge is to take it to a new level in 2018.”
Taken at pick 45 in the 2015 draft, Johnson said he was as hungry as ever for regular senior football after getting a taste of it this year.
“Physically I’m feeling really good now after having trouble with injuries during my first season,” Johnson said
“Having had a taste of AFL footy this year I’m determined to earn a regular spot in the side.”
