4. Christian Petracca

Melbourne's entire 2024 campaign is an open question with countless unknowns regarding just the players; will Clayton Oliver return to his typical form? How much does Max Gawn have left to give? Can Angus Brayshaw's impact be replaced?

The only player Dees fans can hold confidence in without much reason to doubt is Christian Petracca, who is coming off four straight All-Australians and looking typically dominant during the pre-season.

Melbourne's potential to slide down the ladder does raise concerns for Petracca's status this time next year, but as seen last year with Marcus Bontempelli, a player of that calibre can still play at a near-league-best level in a year of turmoil.
