With the 2024 season almost upon us, let's look through some stars of the competition to watch out for this year.
We've compiled a list of the projected top 50 players in the competition for 2024, starting with the names at spots 50 overall through to 41.
Rather than naming the best performers of 2023 or the top players entering Opening Round, this list will look at the best players currently with some projections as to how they may rank at the end of the year.
6. 45 - Tim Kelly
Arguably a career-best year for Tim Kelly last season has shot him back up to being one of the competition's 15 best midfielders, where he was after his second year at Geelong in 2019.
His 28 disposal average and 11 Brownlow votes weren't record-breaking numbers, but it was a stellar feat on such a deplorable West Coast side with a reserve-level supporting cast in the middle.
He is a silky smooth and skilful ball-winner and only entering his seventh season.
At 29 years old however, he faces the prospect of wasting the remainder of his career on a bottom four side with little-to-no chance of rising before the end of his playing days.
