With the 2024 season almost upon us, let's look through some stars of the competition to watch out for this year.

We've compiled a list of the projected top 50 players in the competition for 2024, starting with the names at spots 50 overall through to 41.

Rather than naming the best performers of 2023 or the top players entering Opening Round, this list will look at the best players currently with some projections as to how they may rank at the end of the year.

9. 42 - Callum Wilkie

The All-Australian full-back of 2023 is stiff to not feature higher, but, without revealing spoilers, remains a top five key defender on the list.

Wilkie had gone under the radar before last season, going about his business without ever being discussed as a top tier defender.

A maiden All-Australian blazer gave him the recognition he deserves for his intercepting prowess and versatile shut-down ability on the league's most dangerous forwards.

A similar season in another successful run for the Saints may shoot Wilkie further up this list should his form continue.
