Bulldogs skipper Easton Wood has expressed his displeasure from an incident on Friday night where he was inappropriately touched by a fan at Adelaide Oval.

“I didn’t say anything (to the fan),” Wood told on Channel 7's Game Day.

“I certainly wasn’t hurt or anything like that. I was a bit surprised. My preference would be to be able to go to work and not get slapped on the arse by a complete stranger.

“I’ll be fine and hopefully it doesn’t happen again.”

The fan reached over the fence to touch Wood's backside, which he immediately looked back at and was evidently disgruntled by.

The Adelaide Crows are currently investigating the incident, where the fan was wearing their members lanyard.

“The club is investigating in conjunction with the stadium’s management authority,” a Crows spokesman told the Herald Sun.

St Kilda great Nick Riewoldt said it was a violation of Wood's rights.

“It wasn’t violent, but we can’t expect the players to put up with that,” Riewoldt said.

“They’re in their workplace and they shouldn’t expect to be touched.”

Former Hawk Jason Dunstall said this type of crowd behaviour must be stamped out.

“Even though there’s nothing untoward say, if you allow that, it only takes one player to be hit a little bit too hard and all of a sudden he goes back at the person in the crowd and then it’s out of hand,” Dunstall told Fox Sport.

“There’s got to be zero tolerance.”

Collingwood president Eddie McGuire agreed, saying impudent fans should be instantly removed from games.

“If you lean over, you should be thrown immediately out of the ground,” he said.
