Two-time Geelong premiership player and former Collingwood utility Travis Varcoe will return to Victoria in a move to Western Region Football League club the Yarraville Seddon Eagles.
The 34-year-old is currently plying his trade in the Northern Territory with Palmerston alongside the likes of Eddie Betts, Mathew Stokes and Neville Jetta.
Ex-Cats teammate and AFL great Gary Ablett Jnr is also set to join the Magpies for a one-off match later this month.
But at the conclusion of the 2022-23 NTFL season, Varcoe will head back to Melbourne's west in a move to the Eagles.
"Yarraville Seddon Eagles is thrilled to welcome AFL champion, Travis Varcoe, and his family, to The Nest," a club post reads.
"Having played 230 AFL games with Geelong and Collingwood, including 2 premierships, Trav brings a wealth of experience to the club.
"He will be a key leader on and off the ground to our senior and junior playing groups.
"We can't wait to see Trav in Eagles colours in 2023."
Varcoe played 138 games for Geelong after joining the club through the 2015 National Draft as a first-round selection.
He would feature in Geelong's grand final wins against St Kilda and Collingwood in 2009 and 2011 respectively before joining the latter at the end of the 2014 season.
The Smithfield product would play in Collingwood's grand final against West Coast in 2018, where he would kick the first goal of the game - the second time he achieved the feat after doing the same in 2011.
Varcoe retired after six seasons and 92 games for Collingwood, ending his career at 230 matches and 171 goals.
Varcoe would join the Western Bulldogs for the 2021 season as a development coach, a role he currently holds.
Yarraville Seddon finished the 2022 season in eight on the Division 1 ladder in the WRFL, amassing just four wins from 18 games.
