Geelong premiership ruckman Trent West has dominated a game of local footy, amassing 119 hitouts in a losing side on Saturday.

Playing for Leopold in the Geelong Football League, West broke his own record of 81 hitouts, set in Round 1 this season.

Despite being up by 14 points at three-quarter time, Leopold went down by four points to Bell Park, who had former Western Bulldogs rookie Luke Goetz in the ruck.

West played 70 games in the AFL, debuting for the Cats in 2008 where he played 54 games, including the 2011 premiership. West moved to the Lions in 2014, playing 16 games before retiring in 2016.

The 33-year-old had 25 hitouts in Geelong's 2011 grand final win over the Pies. His AFL personal best was 46 in a 2012 match against Adelaide.

The current record in the AFL belongs to North Melbourne's Todd Goldstein, who amassed 80 hitouts in 2015 against the Giants.

Leopold are set to face Geelong West Giants on Saturday afternoon while West, as a former AFL player, is able to nominate for the league's mid-season rookie draft next month.
