Brisbane coach Chris Fagan couldn't stop himself from drawing comparisons between Logan Morris and Richmond premiership star Jack Riewoldt as the club overturned a 39-point deficit to notch its fifth victory of the season.
For the first time in 77 years, the Lions have started a campaign 5-0, and it took a 14-goal second half at Norwood Oval to accomplish the staggering feat.
However, Morris was the one ticking the scoreboard over in the opening two quarters, helping the reigning premiers remain within touching distance of the Western Bulldogs.
All in all, it was a 60-point turnaround from Brisbane to stay perfect in its flag defence.
But the 19-year-old's performance caught the eyes of his coach, and the rest of his teammates joined him as the game progressed.
"You shouldn't probably talk about who players remind you of, but he's a lot like Jack Riewoldt, I reckon," Fagan said of Morris.
"He's not overly tall ... but he can leap, he takes the ball at its highest point, and he has really good footy, game sense.
"He was pivotal when we weren't going that well in the first half. He was the one bloke that looked dangerous up forward, and then he continued that after halftime.
"He's a really smart footballer. He knows where the goals are. He knows how to bring his teammates into the game."
Morris collected 15 possessions, kicked four goals, directly setting up two more, and was involved in eight scores.
Next week's Easter Thursday blockbuster against Collingwood shapes as an early finals match-up with both sides hitting impressive form.
Fagan got a good view of the Pies' dominance over Sydney on Friday night, and noted a few areas his men will need to be wary of.
"Collingwood are very good around the contest, they're very good with their hands," Fagan said.
"You don't want to get into a sword fight with them, trying to play the same way they do.
"We have to play our way, and hopefully, we can cause them a few problems.
"We've had some good battles over the last few years, but they've had the wood on us; they've won the last three - one of them was a grand final."
