Dual premiership Tiger Josh Caddy has announced his retirement effective immediately.
The former Sun moved back to Victoria at the end of 2012 for family reasons, landing at Geelong. He managed 71 games for the Cats to go with his 24 for Gold Coast.
Caddy's time at Richmond has been doused in success with his arrival at the end of 2016 coinciding with the club's drought-breaking premiership.
The former top-ten pick was a key cog to the Tigers' flag win in 2017 where he booted 21 goals before he took another step up in 2018 and managed a career-high 46 goals.
He would play 18 games in 2019, including the grand final, as the Tigers claimed their second premiership in three seasons.
Caddy only managed 17 games across 2020 and 2021 after falling out of favour at Punt Road.
Richmond General Manager- Football Talent Blair Hartley said the club was forever grateful for the contribution Caddy made to such a successful time in the Tigers history
“Josh can walk away from his AFL career with his head held high and proud of what he has achieved,” he added.
“His skillset made us a better team throughout a successful time for our Club and we value the connections and memories made along the way.
“We wish Josh all the best for the future, he will always be a Richmond man.”
