Week two of the 2024 AFL Finals is just as intriguing as the weekend just gone.

Hawthorn's resounding victory over the Western Bulldogs sets up an interesting clash with Port Adelaide, who are fresh off an 84-point thumping to Geelong at home.

The Giants, who led Sydney for the majority of the qualifying final, ultimately fell short and will face Brisbane, who were too strong for Carlton.

Since 1997, Port Adelaide has held a slight advantage, winning 23 out of 40 encounters, including four of the last five.

Their most recent clash came in Round 10 this year when the Hawks held a commanding 41-point lead late in the third term before losing by a solitary point.

They've met twice in September before, with Hawthorn claiming both wins by three points.

Once in 2014 (preliminary final at the MCG) and the other in 2001 (semi-final at Football Park).

Not much can be split between the Lions and Giants across their 17 clashes.

GWS hold an edge, winning nine of 17 matches, including the past two in 2024.

The Giants' incredible efficiency - and Lions' terrible inaccuracy - saw the Round 22 clash see-saw both ways before the AFL's youngest team claimed the four points.

The pair have met in September but only once.

The 2019 semi-final at the Gabba was a match for the ages and ended with the Giants winning by three points.
