West Coast's Harry Edwards is set to join in on the defensive domino effect with clubs circling the out-of-contract defender.
Showing promising signs in his 36 games to date - six in 2024 - it is understood that there is "significant interest coming from interstate", including from Melbourne.
It is no shock the Demons will look to bolster their young, key defensive stocks, with Steven May on the wrong side of 30 and Jake Lever's knee a watch, despite playing almost every game in the past four years.
And aside from Adam Tomlinson (30), Simon Goodwin doesn't have a heap of young defenders at his disposal, especially being adamant about Harrison Petty as a forward.
The Demons do have Blake Howes (21) and untried key defensive prospect Jed Adams (19).
However, the key ingredient to this move would be the decision of Tom Barrass, who is genuinely weighing up a move to Victoria amid heavy interest from Hawthorn and the Western Bulldogs.
The Eagles hold all the power given Barrass is still contracted until the end of 2027 but he could be turned into a first-round pick, something the club needs to accelerate their rebuild.

It also comes as Richmond midfielder Jack Graham appears to have swapped out the yellow and black for the West Coast guernsey from 2025 onwards, "barring a significant shift", says Channel 7's Ryan Daniels.
Graham's teammate Shai Bolton is also looking for a return to his home state Western Australia, with the Eagles weighing up their options.
Bolton is still contracted at Punt Road which would require a hefty deal to lure him west, whereas Graham will be able to walk over given his unrestricted free agency status.
The Eagles also understand that Victorian clubs are coming hard for key forward Jake Waterman, who has quickly become one of the competition's most improved players.
Geelong and the Demons are said to be interested in the 26-year-old given their desperate need for a marking target.
