Young St Kilda midfielder, Nathan Freeman will need to wait a little bit longer until he's ready to make his AFL debut.
The 2013 No.10 pick has been unlucky with injury and is yet to make his seniors debut.
He's strung six consecutive VFL games together, but Alan Richardson believes he needs to spend some more time in the twos.
Freeman managed 29 disposals, seven marks and one goal in his side's 66-point loss on Sunday.
Richardson appeared Fox Footy’s AFL 360 and said that Freeman's debut is going to have to wait.
"He's close, but he's still not quite ready," Richardson said.
"He's physically right to go, but just has to be completely confident in his body and just let himself go.
"[He needs to] get to another level in terms of his dynamic play, which is his 'one wood', and he's not quite there yet. But, he's getting closer."
Richardson was asked if Freeman would make his overdue debut this season however he didn't guarantee it would happen.
"Certainly, that's the plan, but he'll play when he's ready to play, and he's not quite ready to go," Richardon said.
