Who do you think will be the next captain of the Hawks?

With Jarryd Roughead relinquishing his captaincy of Hawthorn last week, it's up to debate as to who will assume the mantle of captain for 2019.

Sports reporter Stephen Quartermain has a more unusual suggestion, positing that James Sicily - while unlikely - might be the man to fill the big shoes of Roughead.

Quartermain reckons it's unlikely that Sicily will be selected over older and less volatile players, but thinks Sicily shouldn't be discounted.

“It’ll be interesting to see who they choose…for me, personally, I would choose Liam Shiels,” Quartermain said on SEN’s Whateley.

“It will be out of Shiels and Isaac Smith, but don’t discount an absolute left-fielder. James Sicily.

“Don’t discount it. It probably won’t happen but it may happen, and that would be one from left field.

“I think even if he doesn’t get it this time around, I think you will find one day he may be captain of Hawthorn.”

Sicily is just 23 years old and has a long career ahead of him at Hawthorn.
