2022 saw the AFL uncover a host of stars, while some well-known names strengthened their place and pedigree thanks to stellar campaigns.

So, we've attempted to compile a list ranking the 10 players that improved the most this season.

This list takes a look at where these players were positioned at the conclusion of the 2021 season and how they rank 12 months on.

Note: Players are required to have featured in the AFL in 2021, meaning Geelong forward Tyson Stengle was not eligible for our list.

6. Todd Marshall

Marshall made the rest of the competition aware of his rise this year, emerging as arguably the league's most accurate shot at goal.

After booting 24 goals in 2021 from his 21 appearances, Marshall recorded a career-high tally of 45 majors from as many games this year.

That tally also came with just 15 behinds recorded for the year, with Marshall's clean set-shot routine and sharp eye for goal a highlight for Power fans in what was a year to forget.

After falling in Ken Hinkley's pecking order in recent years, Marshall now looks like the man to lead Port Adelaide's forward line for the years to come.

If the Power can retain Mitch Georgiades on a long-term deal, then Alberton will be home to an ace pair of talls forwards for the future.

  1. Nick Daicos should be in the top 10 when we are talking about “improvement”, taking into consideration he was in the NAB League in 2021
