2022 saw the AFL uncover a host of stars, while some well-known names strengthened their place and pedigree thanks to stellar campaigns.
So, we've attempted to compile a list ranking the 10 players that improved the most this season.
This list takes a look at where these players were positioned at the conclusion of the 2021 season and how they rank 12 months on.
Note: Players are required to have featured in the AFL in 2021, meaning Geelong forward Tyson Stengle was not eligible for our list.

5. Jai Newcombe
It's amazing to think early last year jai Newcombe wasn't on an AFL list.
Today, the Poowong product is placed as Hawthorn's first-string ball-winner and is set to lead their young midfield bridge through a rebuild under Sam Mitchell.
Newcombe played seven matches at the back end of last year for the Hawks for a return of 8.86 disposals per game.
In 2022, he played all 22 matches in the brown and gold for an average of 22.55 possessions, 4.59 tackles, 4.09 inside 50s, 3.86 clearances and 9.14 contested possessions per outing.

Newcombe would finish second in the Hawks' best and fairest award, trailing only star defender James Sicily for the honour.
Nick Daicos should be in the top 10 when we are talking about “improvement”, taking into consideration he was in the NAB League in 2021
