In the fourth and final instalment of our 2023 AFL position rankings, we've named the top ten forwards of the year.

It was an interrupted season for many key forwards, with the likes of Tom Lynch, Mitch Lewis and Max King all dealing with injury setbacks to see their campaigns limited.

Nevertheless, their absences came as new premier forwards emerged to the fore, with a number of attackers enjoying career-best seasons in 2023.

Between the dominant tall forwards or the threatening smalls, a number of new faces are sure to appear in this year's rankings.

Here we rank the top 10 forwards based solely on their 2023 campaigns...

8. Tom Hawkins

Kicked at least 49 goals in a season for the 11th time in his last 12 campaigns, again sharing the forward 50 with fellow Coleman Medal winner Jeremy Cameron and recruit Oliver Henry, who both kicked over 40 goals in 2023.

Hawkins was again a standout presence in Geelong's attacking plans, taking 71 marks inside 50 to rank second best in the league for the metric this year.

He would also add 18 goal assists to his career tally to close the gap on all-time leader Eddie Betts, with Hawkins 28 assists from taking the top spot.
