Recently cut players, Pick 1 contenders, state league stars feature in AFL Draft nominations list

A total of 504 AFL Draft hopefuls have lodged nominations for next month's national intake, with recently departed AFL players among the list.

Delisted North Melbourne forward Curtis Taylor, axed Geelong midfielder Mitch Hardie and culled Essendon defender Kaine Baldwin feature on the list, which has been attained by The Age. 

The list also includes former Collingwood winger Trent Bianco, ex-Eagle Isiah Winder and former Sun Brodie McLaughlin among the players keen to get back into the top flight.

The early set of nominations is headlined by likely first-round draft prospects Levi Ashcroft, Jagga Smith, Sam Lalor, Luke Trainor and Tobie Travaglia, who all firm as expected top 20 selections.

J.J. Liston Trophy winner Dom Brew and Magarey medallist Harry Boyd also make the list, with a wide range of state and local clubs featured among the nominations.

The list of nominations is set to grow by a couple hundred more names by the time the November 20-21 National Draft comes around.
