North Adelaide have signed delisted Gold Coast Suns midfielder Oskar Faulkhead for the 2025 campaign in another recruiting coup for the Roosters.

Overlooked in his draft year, the Bendigo Pioneers product out of Geelong Grammar was taken in the 2022 Mid-Season Draft and spent two-and-a-half years on the Suns' AFL list.

Although he was unable to break through for senior selection, Faulkhead was a consistent performer with the Suns' VFL side, playing 45 games including the 2023 premiership triumph over Werribee.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a solid 2024 campaign with the Suns, averaging 21 disposals, three tackles and three clearances per game stationed mostly as a wingman and half-forward.

Arguably his best performance came in Round 1 last season when he gathered 32 disposals, nine marks, seven tackles and a goal against Richmond.

Standing at 183cm, Faulkhead has the size and strength to win his ball at the contest and can play various positions.

Faulkhead also boasts tremendous aerobic capacity, taking out Gold Coast's time trials in 2023 and 2024.

Speaking to the North Adelaide website, Faulkhead expressed his optimism heading into next season at Prospect.

“I am very excited for the 2025 season. The playing and coaching group are a very professional and driven team which will drive us to success next year,” Faulkhead said.

North Adelaide coach Jacob Surjan anticipates the club's newest recruit will have a big impact.

“I am thrilled to announce that Oskar Faulkhead has agreed to play football at North Adelaide in season 2025,” Surjan said.

“Oskar will provide great flexibility for our team knowing he can play multiple roles.

“Highly skilled, Oskar's work rate, spread and power from stoppages will complement what we have added to our engine room this season.

“We are very excited to see what he can bring for our team in season 2025.”

Faulkhead joins Angus Schumacher, James Willis, Kelsey Rypstra, Zavier Maher and Alex van Wyk in joining the Roosters for next season.
