Recently retired AFL champion Luke Hodge is set to join the SEN radio team.

The four-time premiership Hawk, who still lives in Brisbane, will join Gerard Whateley every Tuesday with and will also feature on Saturday Crunch Time.

β€œOur main thing is talking about topics of the week and I’m sure Clarko will get a mention,’’ Hodge told The Herald Sun.

Retiring at the end of 2019, Hodge will still be a part of Channel Seven's AFL commentary team.

The two-time Norm Smith medallist believes the winner of this year's premiership is as deserving as any before them.

β€œIt’s a pretty important year,’’ he said.

β€œI always appreciate the 2014 (flag with Hawthorn) because of the resilience we had. Injuries, (coach Alastair Clarkson) Clarko was sick, so I hold that one higher and this is the same.”
