SEN Breakfast host Tim Watson is of the impression that the leader in the Adelaide coaching sweepstakes, Scott Burns, has pulled out of the coaching race.

“Very early in the piece I said that Scott Burns was very much in the frame and he was,” he told SEN Breakfast.

“I think he’s been interviewed maybe two or three or four times, but I’m hearing that he’s actually withdrawn now from the Adelaide coaching race.”

Burns was the early favourite for the job, with GWS assistant Matthew Nicks and Richmond assistant Adam Kingsley also in the mix.

Watson believes that Nicks will ultimately become the man to win the coaching job.

“I keep hearing the name Matthew Nicks now,” he said.

Tom Rehn spoke on Telstra AFL Trade Radio yesterday, and stated that Kingsley interviewed “really well” and that he is also “right in the final frame”.
